It's All For Mom

Here at Spencer's, we've been working tirelessly to find great prices
on all the best items to celebrate Mom.

Martha, our Fabulous Floral Diva, has brought in the most beautiful
flowering plants and bouquets to show Mom just how much she's loved.

Rod, the Meat Master, has stocked all our stores with unbelievably fresh
seafood, mouth watering Harris Ranch beef and tasty, tender poultry.

And Bob, Spencer's Prince of Produce, has scoured the Central Coast
for the freshest, most flavorful local produce that's sure to please Mom.

Rest assured that the Spencer's Team has done all the work, so that
you can relax and spend the day with Mom...
and as always, Thank You for shopping at your neighborhood
Spencer's Fresh Markets location.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

New Crop Sweet Coachella Valley White Corn!

You've been waiting for it all winter, and it's finally here...
the first crop of Coachella Valley Sweet White Corn!!

The Coachella Valley in Riverside County grows some of the best sweet
corn in the United States. Mild winters, along with 350 days of sun
every year, make this growing region perfect for the Desert Snow
variety of supersweet white corn. This early ripening corn has a very
high sugar content and loves the Valley's silty soil, which holds water
during the hot summer temperatures.

These sweet, tender ears arrive at Spencer's just after harvesting,
providing you with the freshest, most flavorful corn eating experience
Bite into the sweet taste of summer
a little early this year with
Coachella Valley Sweet White Corn.
Visit us on facebook and let us know how YOU  cook fresh corn!

Giant Locally Grown Produce Sale through 4/12/2011!!

When we say "Locally Grown Produce", we mean just that.
In a recent Santa Maria Times article (Locally grown? It depends on how you define it. -April 2, 2011) , the term "Local" can mean anything from grown in the same city, to grown within a 5 state radius.

At Spencer's, "Locally Grown" produce comes from right here in our own backyard! We buy fresh produce daily from family farms in Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria and Lompoc. And because it arrives in our stores just after harvesting, you are guaranteed the freshest, most flavorful produce you can buy... not to mention helping our local economy.

Our produce is just one of the reasons we say, "Spencer's... where freshness is local". Come and taste the difference for yourself!

What is IGA?

As many of you may have noticed, things have been looking a little different around Spencer's lately.  Spencer's is still locally owned and operated, we have simply joined forces with IGA.
IGA stands for the Independent Grocers Alliance.  Founded in 1926, IGA brings together independent grocers from across the United States.  This gives us better buying power to stay competitive in a chain store driven market.  IGA has given us tools to implement not only better pricing, but customer service and communication also.

The IGA Promise reads:
"A warm welcome from friendly,
knowledgeable associates
Great service and quick response
 to your special requests
Locally-owned by people you
know and trust
At the heart of your community"

IGA gives us the opportunity to enhance our small town, community feel, "Where Freshness is Local."
